Inspiration for the contest

Sara Brunsvold’s debut novel, “The Extraordinary Deaths of Mrs. Kip,” centers on an unexpected friendship between an elderly woman named Clara Kip and the young reporter named Aidyn Kelley who is sent to interview her. Mrs. Kip selflessly pours wisdom and encouragement into Aidyn, all with an aim of helping the younger woman find her footing in faith-filled womanhood.

Their story was partially inspired by the many “Mrs. Kips” in Sara’s own life.
