April Tillery knows the weight of fear well.

“I really struggled with fear of lack for a long time,” she said. Lack of not being enough or having enough. Lack of time, resources, opportunity, potential customers. Everything.

When dreams change: Rachel Johnson’s turn from teacher to princess

If anyone had asked the young Rachel Johnson what she wanted to be when she grew up, her answer would have come easily.

“I have felt called from God to be a teacher since I was young,” she said. “It was just always something I wanted to do.”

Six years ago, she saw her teaching dream come true when she began her first job at a Kansas City-area elementary school. Although she was thrilled to be living her long-held dream, she also felt drawn to her side job with a small company called Princess at My Party.

Shannon Phipps never set out to be a screenwriter, never even entertained the notion. Then, one day in 2000, she watched the blockbuster movie The Sixth Sense. The superbly written plot sunk its tentacles into her creative mind, wound around her heart and pumped a craving into her veins. She too wanted to take audiences captive the way M. Night Shyamalan had with his script.

A prayer for the dream chaser {#DreamChaser series}

As my dream-chasing adventure unfolds, I find myself in this weird, uncomfortable position. One foot in familiar territory and one stepping toward that which I cannot see or really even imagine.

Unsettling? Yes.
